MCE provided structural engineering services for the expansion design of this major sanitary sewer trunk to accommodate future residential growth. Improvements included 9,800 linear feet of sewer main; an above-grade structural drainage crossing; significant natural resource permitting; and coordination with multiple jurisdictions. At the 90% design stage, Clean Water Services identified an additional 1,000 linear feet of storm main that needed replacing, which paralleled a portion of the sewer trunk main. MCE assisted AKS Engineering in developing a design for replacement of the main and the project was substantially complete one month ahead of an ambitious two-year schedule, and $1 million under budget, receiving the 2020 Engineering Excellence Award from ACEC.
