Project Story

MCE provided structural design for the new chimp climbing structure. It was constructed using recycled logs that were donated to the Oregon Zoo. The construction was made challenging by a large moat that surrounded the project forcing materials and equipment to be craned into the site after hours. Construction was also challenging due to the limited time allotted assuring that the chimps would not be stressed. MCE was able to design a structure with the donated logs while being under the zoo’s construction and design budget and also finishing ahead of schedule.
