Tualatin Veterans Plaza
Project Details
Project Story
Miller Consulting Engineers provided structural engineering services in support of the renovation and enhancement of the east side of Tualatin Commons as part of the City’s vision for a new Veterans Plaza. MCE led the structural design effort to transform an aging passive-use landscape into a reflective, inclusive public space that honors veterans and service members.
Contributions focused on structural design for site-integrated elements such as foundations for public art, seating, and signage, as well as structural support for new plaza features. Particular attention was given to integrating structural solutions that supported the project’s emphasis on ADA accessibility, sustainable and natural materials, and long-term durability. MCE worked closely with the design team to ensure constructability and compatibility with dark-sky lighting systems, stormwater strategies, and public safety goals. The resulting space reflects the City’s themes of honor, shared values, and community connection—through thoughtful, well-engineered features designed to endure.
