Project Story
MCE provided engineering services for the park’s shade structure for the Nototomne Park in Lathrop, California. MCE's structural design for this project included the design of the pinwheel sun shade columns and foundations. The load from the sun shades is resisted by the columns that are direct burial posts in concrete footings. (The sun shade fabric and connections were designed by others.)
The park honors the history of indigenous peoples of the region and provides an educational opportunity for the community through the design intent using modern recreational activities.
