Miller Consulting Engineers was retained by Portland Parks and Recreation to assess the current condition of the wood canopy supporting beams at Director Park. The assessment was completed with a focus on minimizing disruption to the businesses and daily activities taking place beneath and around the canopy.

 

Miller completed the on-site condition assessment in a single day, with no impact to the typical operations of the business located beneath the canopy and only limited diversion of pedestrian traffic in surrounding areas. The team provided a timely assessment report to support the City’s evaluation of repair and maintenance options and inform next steps for the structure.
